Presbyopia Vision Problem
Presbyopia is a natural and unavoidable part of the aging process, in which the eye loses it’s ability to focus closely. Most people between the age of 40 and 50 will start becoming aware of the their inability to read small print in the telephone book and start holding the newspaper a little farther away to make it clearer. Although it’s not sight threatening, it does make it necessary to use reading glasses or bifocals to magnify near material.
This condition will occur regardless of any distance vision problem such as nearsightedness or farsightedness. Every person will eventually develop presbyopia and require some type of visual aid for reading. Contact an optometrist and ophthalmologist for more information.
