Pinkeye Conjunctivitis
Pink eye is actually called conjunctivitis and refers to inflammation or infection of the conjunctive which is the transparent skin that covers the white of the eye. Symptoms include redness, itching and discharge or tearing. Conjunctivitis can be caused by bacteria or viruses and typically requires antibiotic eye drops. The condition tends to be very contagious and caution should be taken to avoid spread of the infection to the other eye or to another person.
