Iris Inflammation
The iris is the colored part of the eye and changes its aperture or pupil in reaction to light. Inflammation of the iris is called iritis or anterior uveitis and can be a painful serious condition. Symptoms include pain, redness and light sensitivity. This condition is often associated with other physical conditions in the body. Treatment with anti-inflammatory eye drops is necessary to prevent complications. Contact an optometrist or ophthalmologist for more information.
