Why Should I go to the Eye Doctor?
Professional eye examinations are an important part of your general healthcare. It’s recommended that all children undergo a vision screening by age three and a complete eye exam by age six, or of course sooner if any suspicion of eye problems arise. Thereafter it’s recommended that everyone have a complete eye examination every one to two years.
Other reasons for regular exams include family history of eye disease, especially glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension or other physical conditions that may contribute to eye health. Symptoms that require immediate attention include eye pain, sudden loss of vision, double vision, light flashes, halos, new floaters and crossed eyes. Contact an optometrist or ophthalmologist in your area for more information.
